Toddler hurt after lorry hits pram
A two-year-old boy is lucky to be alive after a lorry collided with his pram as his mother pushed it along a street in Oldham.
The toddler suffered serious head injuries in the accident on Huddersfield Road in Denshaw, at the junction with Ripponden Road.
He was taken to Royal Oldham Hospital, but it is understood his injuries are not life-threatening.
His mother was said to be unhurt, as was the lorry driver.
People living nearby described the stretch of road where the accident happened as hazardous.
“It’s a very, very dangerous junction,” one man told Sky News.
“At the moment with some of my elderly customers, I have to escort them across this road.
“I do watch children, I see them playing around here. It’s notorious this (junction).”
Greater Manchester Police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them
