Disturbances in Manchester and Salford

Fifty police officers are handling a disturbance in Salford.
Around 40 school age youths have gathered at an estate off Churchill Way in Pendleton near Salford Shopping City. Bricks have been hurled at officers and their vans.
Police dog handlers have attempted to disperse the group. There are no reports of injuries.
Bargain Booze in Salford Precinct has been looted.
The Arndale Centre, in Manchester city centre has shut early after an incident where a group of youths tried to storm a shop which had already closed.
Windows have been smashed at Marks and Spencers and Ugg in the city centre.
At the Manchester Fort retail park in Cheetham Hill, B&Q and Thorntons have closed early.
A Wigan man has been arrested for using Facebook to attempt to incite a riot. In a seperate incident, two people have been arrested on suspicion of inciting public disorder through social networking sites.
