Russia has chosen a singing group of babushkas from the remote village of Buranovo, to represent the country in the Eurovision Song Contest. Buranovskie Babushki, some of whom are in their seventies, won the vote on Russian TV with their song Come On And Dance. It means they will now represent Russia at the Eurovision finals to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan in May.
Women’s rights campaigners in Russia say the country’s boom in “mail order brides” is only one step away from human trafficking and prostitution. Tens of thousands of women sign up every year in the hope of getting hold of a foreign husband, as Sky’s Moscow Correspondent Amanda Walker reports.
