hubby Wayne Rooney
While her hubby Wayne Rooney has been embroiled in his first Twitter row, super-WAG Coleen Rooney tells me she’s loving using the micro-blogging website.
Since joining the Twitter revolution last month, fashion queen Coleen has already managed to amass 150,000 followers.
Wayne is way ahead with almost 600,000, although he hit the headlines yesterday after rather, ahem, staunchly defending himself against a Liverpool fan on his Twitter – which he has since laughed off as ‘banter’.
While questions about Wayne were strictly off-limits as she launched her latest fragrance, Butterflies, at Selfridges in the Trafford Centre yesterday, Coleen tells me she loves all that digital interface with her fans.
She said: “I’m really enjoying being on Twitter. It took a while to get used to but now I tweet a couple of times a day and have some interesting followers.
“I now have over 148,000 followers which is great. I like using computers.
“Because of my business life I have always been used to using a computer, dealing with my brands and management company.
“I recently bought an iPad, which is good to use and handy when you’re travelling on business.”
Business is certainly brisk for Coleen. As well as launching her new, high end fragrance, she’s been creating a new fashion range with Littlewoods, while also being mum to her and Wayne’s 18-month-old baby son Kai.
She says: “Things have been working out well in combining looking after Kai and my work commitments.
“Kai is now in nursery a couple of days a week and these tend to be the days when I am working.”
On the perfume itself, Coleen adds: “It’s very girlie and glam. It’s more luxurious than my previous perfumes, but is still affordable.”
So, with her credentials as style icon, which key summer trends will she be wearing this summer?
“In the summer, I’m always a fan of the maxi dress, this comes back year after year. I am also loving the jumpsuits,” she says.
And her advice for all of us to attempt to look as polished as her is simple. She says: “Feel comfortable in what you are wearing.
“If you feel comfortable you feel confident. Also find things that flatter your figure and emphasise the best parts of your body.”
