The Health Secretary has been confronted by angry protesters outside Downing Street claiming key health partners had been excluded from the Government’s controversial NHS reform talks. A small group of around 40 incensed health professionals tried to prevent the Health Secretary from entering, jostling and jeering him as he tried to placate them. There are growing concerns this morning about the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Tripoli. Hundreds of dead bodies have been discovered in a hospital — it appears patients were abandoned in their beds when fighting broke out last week. The United Nations Secretary General has made an urgent call to the international community to send humanitarian help. Sky’s Jane Dougall reports.
The Defence Secretary’s revealed he met his close friend Adam Werritty 40 times at the Ministry of Defence and on trips abroad. Liam Fox admits he should have made sure the meetings were properly recorded to avoid accusations of wrongdoing. One of the more controversial ones involves Dubai businessman Harvey Boulter. He says he was under the impression Mr Werritty was a key member of Dr Fox’s team.
